The historic Immaculate Conception Church, founded in ca. 1675 by Pere Marquette, appears Thursday, March 3, 2011 at dawn among other dwellings in Downstate Kaskaskia. The 2010 census shows Kaskaskia is now only the second-least populated Illinois town.
