The historic Immaculate Conception Church, founded in ca. 1675 by Pere Marquette, appears Thursday, March 3, 2011 at dawn among other dwellings in Downstate Kaskaskia. The <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="EVHST0000235" title="2010 Census" href="/topic/social-issues/2010-census-EVHST0000235.topic">2010 census</a> shows Kaskaskia is now only the second-least populated <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100500000000" title="Illinois" href="/topic/us/illinois-PLGEO100100500000000.topic">Illinois</a> town.
