( Tribune photo by Chuck Berman / April 15, 2009 ) Greg Terpin of Naperville has a pair of dangling tea bags attached to his cap on Wednesday in Naperville. He was one of hundreds who gathered at the Naperville Municipal Center for the annual Taxpayer's Tea Party to protest "excessive government spending, borrowing, and taxing," in a homage to the Boston Tea Party's dumping of heavily taxed tea into Boston Harbor before the American Revolution. There were dozens of protests like this one staged in the U.S. on Wednesday, which is the deadline day for filing tax returns. |
