A man followed two teenagers and grabbed at one of them in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood early this morning, police said.
Area Central detectives are warning residents of the Ogden and Near West police districts about the man, who is being sought in connection with what police are describing as a case of criminal sexual abuse.
The man followed a girl, 15, and a woman, 18, as they walked from near Kedzie Avenue and Cermak Road to the 2300 block of West Cullerton Avenue, where they arrived about 6 a.m., according to a police alert issued this afternoon. On Cullerton, the man grabbed at the girl’s pants, and the woman started hitting him with her purse, according to the alert.
The man then ran away, headed west on Cullerton.
Police described the attacker as a white man between the ages of 35 and 40, standing about 5-foot-5, with a chubby build. He had a bald head, a light complexion, and a tattoo on one of his arms. When last seen, he was wearing a green t-shirt with some sort of logo, khaki shorts and black shoes.
Anyone with information about the man or the attack is asked to call detectives at 312-747-8380.
