Cops issue vehicle description in fatal Bridgeport hit-and-run

Chicago police today issued a community alert today seeking the public's help to locate the driver of a car that fatally struck a 21-year-old woman in the Bridgeport neighborhood on Friday.

Carissa Hinz was killed at about 11:03 p.m. on the 3200 block of South Morgan Street as she was taking out trash from a community event held at a local art gallery where she had volunteered.

Hinz, who had graduated from art school in May, worked as a barista at a local coffee shop.

Police said today they are searching for a Maroon Hyundai Sonata Sedan that was last seen travelling southbound on Morgan at a high rate of speed, police said.

The vehicle was being driven by a male in his 20's with two other occupants. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any information about the driver is asked to call police at 312-745-4521.
