Cops issue alert after girl sexually assaulted in South Deering

Chicago police have issued a community alert after a 14-year-old girl was forced at gunpoint into an abandoned building and was sexually assaulted in the South Deering neighborhood, officials said.

The attack happened Wednesday at 8:36 p.m. as the girl was walking home on the 2300 block of East 102nd Street when she was approached from behind, police said.

The man displayed a handgun and force the girl into a nearby alley. The the girl was then forced into the rear yard of an abandoned house where she was sexually assaulted, police said.

The man is described as black with a dark complexion, between 20 and 30 years old, between 5 feet 9 and 6 feet tall. He is between 180 and 200 pounds, with black hair and a mustache and goatee.

He was wearing a black jacket, gray sweatpants and a red and white Chicago Bulls knit hat.
