She knows who banished Star-Lord to the Negative Zone, she knows what planet Groot comes from—and she obviously knows much more than the very “Guardians of the Galaxy” themselves.
In a seven-minute-long game-show segment that aired last week on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” called “Mia vs. Marvel,” 5-year-old Mia Grace of Albany, N.Y., crushes the actors portraying the sci-fi heroes. The stars of the latest Marvel Comics movie—Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper—each step up to challenge the pint-sized pro in a battle of Marvel Comics knowledge, with humorous results.
Mia’s internet stardom began in May 2013, after she first hit YouTube showing off her superhero knowledge during a car ride with her father. In her second appearance on Kimmel (her first time was last autumn), Mia again demonstrates her uncanny talent. And sure, we realize the actors might’ve been letting her slap the buzzer. But her knowledge of the Marvel universe still rivals that of some grown-up comics geeks, and it’s charming watching the Hollywood celebs interact with the somewhat bashful yet ever-confident girl.
"Guardians of the Galaxy," rated PG-13, hits theaters this Friday, August 1.
