Date and place of incident: May 2002, Carol Stream. Incident narrative: Skylar Chambers and Turner Reeves kidnapped, raped and murdered a Carol Stream girl to whom they offered a ride home from Bartlett High School, Tribune news archives show. Freshman Nassim Davoodi, 14, was leaving school and saw two young men, one of whom she knew as the cousin of a classmate. They offered her a ride and she accepted. Five days later her body was found in a shallow grave in a wooded area near Long Grove in Lake County. An autopsy indicated she had been raped before she was strangled and suffocated. Chambers and Reeves had become friends over the Internet, court records show. Court outcome: Chambers and Reeves were both sentenced to life in prison for kidnapping, rape and murder. In a letter, Chambers declined comment but said, "I am innocent."
