A man was shot and critically wounded in the West Pullman neighborhood, but apparently was driven by private car to a hospital instead of taken via ambulance, authorities said.
The man, 21, walked into Roseland Hospital about 9:25 a.m., after suffering multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
Police had to check the area for a crime scene, determining that the man likely was shot about 9:15 a.m. near 115th Street and Wentworth Avenue, according to Police News Affairs.
Area South detectives were investigating.
