A 16-year-old boy and a woman were among four people shot overnight in the city, police said.
Someone shot the woman in the leg about 5:20 a.m. today while she was outside in the 700 block of West Gladys Avenue in the West Loop Gate neighborhood, according to Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.
The Gladys Avenue address is just outside Chicago Fire Department Engine No. 5 headquarters at 324 S. Des Plaines St. A lieutenant there said their morning crews assisted the woman but he believed the woman was on the west side of the Kennedy Expressway on Jackson Boulevard in Greektown when she was shot.
Sullivan said the woman was taken in good condition to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
About 3:35 a.m. in the Archer Heights neighborhood on the Southwest Side, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the leg in the 4700 block of South Karlov Avenue. The boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital but a condition was not available for him, said Sullivan.
Fifteen minutes before the Karlov incident, someone stabbed two males outside in the 7100 block of West Grand Avenue in the Montclare neighborhood on the Northwest Side, said Sullivan.
Both were treated and released from Our Lady of the Resurrection Hospital.
No arrests have been made in any of the shootings, Sullivan said.
