A Chicago man was arrested Saturday and charged with identity theft after he allegedly used a cop's bank account to buy an iPad at a Southwest Side store.
Brandon Barker, 31, was released of his own recognizance Sunday at Cook County bond court.
Barker entered the h.h. gregg store on the 7600 block of South Cicero Avenue in the Ford City neighborhood on April 3, according to court records.
He bought an iPad Mini for about $470 with a Visa gift card re-encoded with the police officer's bank information, according to court records.
Barker was arrested at his residence Saturday on the 1400 block of West 73rd Place, according to court records.
