A bank was robbed by an armed man this morning on the Far North Side, authorities said.
It happened about 9:30 a.m. at the Fifth Third Bank branch at 7574 N. Western Ave. in the West Rogers Park neighborhood, according to the FBI and police.
A man armed with a gun presented a note to a teller demanding cash, according to Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli. He took cash and fled the bank on foot. No one was hurt and the man was not arrested, said Mirabelli.
The robber was a black man in his 50s who was wearing eyeglasses, was about 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds; he was wearing a white long-sleeved dress shirt, black pants, and a black baseball cap, said Mirabelli.
