Mayor Jane Byrne gazes heavenward during midnight mass at Holy Name Cathedral on Christmas Eve. The mayor and her family were among 1,000 worshipers who celebrated Christmas mass with John Cardinal Cody, who reminded them that the 50 American hostages in Tehran "must be thinking of us this Christmas, even as we think of them."
