The tweet was short and coyly incomplete.
"To all my friends, my last day of employment as Exec Chef for Trump Chicago was Today, after 4 long years and way too..."
Way too? Way too what? Damn those character limits!
And just like that, Frank Brunacci announced that he'd served his last meal at Sixteen, the splendid restaurant on the 16th floor of Trump International Hotel & Tower. Chef de cuisine Joseph Rose, who has been at the restaurant for three years, is the interim chef while the hotel (quoting from the Trump's press release here) "conducts a search for a new executive chef."
The release also says that Brunacci has "chosen to pursue his life's passion in another field," which is either spruced-up corporate boilerplate; or a suggestion that Brunacci might spend a little more time at Franks 'N Dawgs, the Lincoln Park operation run by brother Alexander and Lillian Velasquez-Brunacci, who is Frank's wife; or maybe he'll throw himself into thechefsdiamond.com, Lillian's online truffle-importing business. Or maybe (we can hope) he'll launch another Chicago restaurant project.
We await the followup tweet with great anticipation.
