Illinois State Police found a body near I-80 in Tinley Park this morning, officials said.
State police received a report about 9:30 a.m. of a crashed motorcycle and unresponsive body near the I-80 westbound ramp to Harlem Avenue, spokeswoman Monique Bond said.
The motorcycle was “deep in a ditch and was not visible from the ramp,” Bond wrote in an email.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office said this afternoon that the body has not been identified. The office could not offer information on the victim’s age or sex. The individual had been missing for 8 days and was a Tinley Park resident, Mayor Ed Zabrocki said.
Tinley Park police are also investigating.
Sources said the body may have been there for some time as it had decomposed.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
