Best of both worlds

Best of both worlds: The Big East was decaying all around it, and although some could argue that one move from Notre Dame might have wiped the rot from the walls, the school instead retained its prized football independence while firming up its future in other endeavors by announcing a move to the ACC on Sept. 12. It may take a while to get there, or it may happen as soon as next fall, but it has been and still is the best possible fit in the changing landscape of college sports.
