Briggs will take orders from customers at the upscale cupcake bakery, and pose for photos from 2-4 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds of the Briggs4Kidz red velvet cupcake, which is available from Saturday to October 9, will benefit the Pro Bowl linebacker’s Briggs4Kidz foundation.
Briggs will be the third Chicago athlete to appear at Sprinkles to raise money for charity since it opened in July 2010. The Cubs’ Starlin Castro raised $10,000 for Chicago Cubs Charities in April and the Bulls’ Carlos Boozer raised $8,000 for CharitaBulls last November, according to sprinkles.com.
“E! News” host Giuliana Rancic and husband and former “Apprentice” winner Bill Rancic both appeared at Sprinkles’ highly-anticipated grand opening. Sprinkles donated $25,000 to Hope Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald House on behalf of the stars of the Style Network’s “Giuliana and Bill.”
All three appearances drew crowds of around 150-200 people. A similar turnout is expected for Briggs’ appearance.
