Authorities tight-lipped on 2 Calumet Park deaths

Authorities were giving out little information regarding the deaths of a man and woman at a Calumet Park home this morning.

The two people were found dead in the 12600 block of Loomis Street in the south suburb and declared dead at 6:57 a.m. at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. The medical examiner's office did not have details of how the two may have died.

Friends and neighbors told WGN-TV that the two had been shot to death and the shooting took place about 3 a.m.

Calumet Park Police Assistant Police Chief Kenneth Mann would not go into detail about the incident but told WGN-TV that police had a person of interest whom they were speaking to. Mann said the release of any details would have to wait unitl Monday because what happened was "under investigation."

The mother of the man believed to have been killed said she was not ready to speak to the Tribune about his death.
