A man who was jogging this morning in Lincolnwood died after being struck by a vehicle, authorities said.
The victim, identified by the Cook County medical examiner's office as 62-year-old Judd Horwitz, was jogging in the 7000 block of Lincoln Avenue in the north suburb when a vehicle struck him, according to Lincolnwood Police Lt. Mark Brines.
"It's under investigation if he was jogging in the street or on the side of the street," said Brines of the victim.
The vehicle that hit him did not flee the scene and Brines said police are trying to figure out if the driver did anything wrong during the 5:30 a.m. wreck.
Horwitz, of the 6600 block of Trumbull Avenue in Lincolnwood, was pronounced dead at 9:35 a.m. at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, according to the medical examiner's office.
An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
