An 84-year-old Arlington Heights man last seen asking for driving directions at 12:25 a.m. Friday in Yorkville was still listed as missing this afternoon, authorities said.
Eugene Jonsson left his Arlington Heights home Thursday at 7:45 p.m. to travel to a nearby restaurant but never arrived and was later reported missing by family members, police said. His gray 2004 Buick LeSabre four-door with Illinois license plate JONS507 was last seen in Yorkville when he asked for directions to Ogden Avenue and Route 59 in Naperville.
“We didn’t get a call over the weekend,” said Det. Sgt. Nathan Hayes, of the Arlington Heights Police criminal investigations bureau, reporting no new information in the case Monday. “We’re still looking at tracking leads to locate this individual.”
Family members told police he had no known medical conditions, however, he did recently get lost while driving, officials said. He does not have a cellphone but was traveling with his wallet, officials said.
He is described as 5 foot 10 inches tall weighing 190 pounds with gray balding hair, blue eyes and wears eye glasses. Any information can be directed to Arlington Heights police at 847-368-5348.
