John Dillinger and the Biograph Theater

<a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PEHST000558" title="John Dillinger" href="/topic/arts-culture/john-dillinger-PEHST000558.topic">John Dillinger</a> walked out of the Biograph Theater on July 22, 1934. Upon seeing the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORGOV000008" title="FBI" href="/topic/crime-law-justice/fbi-ORGOV000008.topic">FBI</a> agents assembled outside the building, Dillinger dashed into a nearby alley where he was fatally shot three times. Some believe it was not actually Dillinger, but a close friend named Jimmy Lawrence who met his demise in the alley. Regardless, it's said that each night one can see a misty blue figure run through the alley and fall to the ground before vanishing in thin air.
