A five vehicle accident that involved two semi-trucks tied up traffic for nearly three hours this afternoon on northbound Interstate 94 in Lake County.
The accident happened shortly after 1 p.m. in the northbound lanes near milemarker 2.25 in Lake County, according to Illinois state police. The accident involved two trucks and three passenger vehicles.
Only minor injuries were reported, but traffic came to a halt for nearly three hours, police said.
As of 4 p.m., westbound traffic was moving and officials were preparing to open southbound traffic.
