Cedric the Entertainer

Like the other "Original Kings of Comedy" (Steve Harvey, D.L. Hughley, Bernie Mac), Cedric the Entertainer, left, has found success in different areas of entertainment: hosting TV shows, starring in sitcoms and films, and creating a fashion line. And he still reigns as a king on the stand-up stage. There have been comedians who have changed their stand-up style after an extensive career (stopped using curse words, recited an oral memoir instead of tell jokes). Ced is still telling it like it is. Why go: Ced is a good judge of comedic talent, and he's bringing a couple of his funny friends for this show. Reconsider: When you've been requested by the president and major award shows, it's kind of hard for Hollywood not to take some of the rawness out of a stand-up act. Details: 8 p.m. Saturday at Arie Crown Theater, McCormick Place, 2301 S. Lake Shore Drive; $49-$69; 800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com
