Janis Ian

Folk singer and musician Janis Ian is one of the biggest songwriters you might not know well, even if you know her vast catalog. There's ¿Jesse¿ (1973), also recorded by Roberta Flack, Joan Baez and Dottie West; "Stars," performed by artists from Mel Torme to Cher; the five-time Grammy-nominated ¿At Seventeen¿; and goo-gobs of songs she has written for other singers. (Ian has written a lot of songs for television shows and films too.) But for this show, you'll get to hear Ian's version of many of these songs, as part of her own collection of timeless music. And then you'll know her.
