A man and woman shot in any icy West Side alley were among at least four people shot on the West and Far South sides today, police said.

The man and woman were shot about 11:50 a.m. in an alley on the 4200 block of West Wilcox Street in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.

Police said a 36-year-old woman was picking up a 25-year-old man in her vehicle in the alley when someone approached the man and began shooting, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said.

The man was shot in the head and was taken by another person to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Sedevic said.

The woman suffered a gunshot graze wound to her head and was also shot in the foot, Sedevic said. She drove herself to a home on the 2200 block of South Kolin Avenue, where police and paramedics were called, officials said.

The woman was then taken to Mount Sinai, where her condition was stabilized, Sedevic said.

The man and woman were not cooperating fully with police, and authorities believe the shooting may have been related to a drug deal, a police source said.

Following the shooting, police in winter hats examined shattered glass on a patch of packed snow and ice in the alley. At the south end of the crime scene marked by yellow tape, icicles hung from the roof of a one-story brick church.

In an earlier West Side shooting, a 19-year-old man was shot at 7:55 a.m. on the 1000 block of North Lawndale Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien said. The man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where his condition had stabilized.

On the Far South Side, an 18-year-old man was shot once in the abdomen about 1:37 p.m. on the 11200 block of South Normal Avenue in the Roseland neighborhood, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said. | Twitter: @ChicagoBreaking
