Thursday night shootings left one person dead and four others wounded in the Washington Park, Gage Park and Little Village neighborhoods, according to police.
A 19-year-old man was killed and a 16-year-old girl wounded in a shooting about 10:10 p.m. Thursday in the Washington Park neighborhood on the South Side, according to police.
The two were shot on the 5900 block of south Calumet Avenue, police said.
Police said the man, shot in the head, was dead at the scene. The woman was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with a graze wound, police said.
The man, identified as 20-year-old Shaquille L. Rush by the Cook County medical examiner's office, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at 10:54 p.m.
He lived on the 6000 block of South Michigan Avenue, about three blocks from where he was shot.
Less than two hours later, a man and a woman were shot on the 2600 block of South Tripp Avenue in the Little Village neighborhood.
Circumstances surrounding that shooting weren't immediately available.
The woman suffered a graze wound to her elbow and the man was shot "multiple times" in the body, police said.
Both were taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said. The man is in serious condition.
Earlier in the evening, about 9 p.m., a 15-year-old gang member was shot in the legs, according to police.
The boy was shot on the 3400 block of West 53rd Street in Gage Park by someone inside a passing SUV, police said.
He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition, police said.
