Chicago police arrested a suspected gunman who opened fired on them this morning on the West Side.
No officers were hurt in the shooting, which happened in the 100 block of South Cicero Avenue in the West Garfield Park neighborhood at 1:50 a.m., police said, citing early reports.
Police were still awaiting full details on how the shooting occurred, but a department spokeswoman said officers didn't return fire.
Officers at the scene called for backup and a suspect with a handgun was taken into custody a short time later.
On Wednesday, a Cook County judge set bail for an alleged gang member who fired shots at police earlier this week.
