AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Honest to the core, Jack Nicklaus acknowledged Tuesday that he does not want Tiger Woods to break his record of 18 major victories.
“Nobody wants their records to be broken,” Nicklaus said. “C’mon.
“But do I have an objection to it? No. If he plays well enough and does it, I want to be the first person to shake his hand.”
Woods has been stuck on 14 since the 2008 U.S. Open, when he outlasted Rocco Mediate in a playoff at Torrey Pines.
