Robin Roberts makes a triumphant return to Good Morning America, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is remembered on what would have been his 46th birthday and New York anchorman Rob Morrison is taking a beating in the press after police said he threatened to kill his wife after a fight. Welcome to your online trends report for Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013.
Good Morning America anchor Robin Robert made a star-studded return to her top-rated morning show today after being treated for a rare blood disorder. Looking healthy after a bone marrow transplant, Roberts was greeted with a taped message from President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama for her comeback show.
Meanwhile, another news anchor was making a much different kind of news. Rob Morrison, who anchors the local CBS news in New York, got into a messy fight with his wife this weekend that is playing out in the New York tabloids. Police say Morrison choked his wife, Ashley, and threatened to kill her. He was hit in the face (his mug shot features a bloodied nose) and says it was family disagreement that got out of control. His station is far from pleased.
In other trending news, Office Max and Office Depot are merging, voting has begun for Nickelodeon's Kid Choice Awards and Paul McCartney will headline the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival.
