The web is buzzing this morning as "American Idol"is back with a new set of judges, a wacky Sandy Hook Conspiracy is gaining steam and Google is honoring Frank Zamboni, the inventor of -- you guessed it -- the Zamboni.
When American Idol returns for a 12th season tonight all eyes will be on new judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey who apparently despise each other. The cat fighting may be manufactured. But hey, it works for pro-wrestling, why not "Idol?"
All things guns remain in the news as we approach Gun Appreciation Day on Saturday. (How will you celebrate this crass and tasteless holiday?) Speaking of crass and tasteless, a video theorizing that the Newtown school shooting was planned by the government to as a reason to enact gun control laws has captivated the web. Sadly, it has millions of views, confirming that most Americans aren't the brightest bulbs. On the positive side, it makes the NRA look positively reasonable as they call President Obama an "elitist hypocrite" because his daughters have a security detail.
Google is making news on two fronts as it features another charming interactive "doodle" of a Zamboni on its home page today and outside developers begin to work with its Project Glass. Project Glass is Google's kooky but cool virtual reality glasses device. Looking at the pictures, it's either going to be awesome or awful.
