Comcast announced today that Xfinity TV service customers throughout South Florida will start receiving up to 144 new channels – about half of which will be new HD channels – at no extra cost.

The list of free channels include BET HD, The Movie Channel HD, Tru TV HD, Starz Comedy HD, History International HD, MTV HD, MSNBC HD, CMT HD, Comedy Central HD, GMC HD, NHL HD, Tennis HD, FOX Business Network HD and more.

Comcast also unveiled its “World of More” campaign, touting that customers in Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties will receive more HD and multicultural programming. More specifically, Comcast announced that “more than half of our South Florida customers in Miami-Dade and Broward counties have access to more than 144 new channels. About half of those channels are new HD channels,” according to a Media Advisory video from Comcast.

Other parts of Florida will have to wait, according to a press release, which also stated: With today’s launch, the “World of More” is now available to the majority of XFINITY TV customers in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Comcast will continue to launch “The World of More” throughout the remainder of South Florida over the course of the next year.

Today, at no additional cost to XFINITY Digital TV customers, Comcast launched in Miami:

More than 55 new HD channels, and

More than 65 new digital channels, including

More than 25 new Spanish-language channels, and

XFINITY 3D, the first channel of its kind, exclusive to XFINITY TV HD customers.

XFINITY TV customers now also have access to more than 13 brand new International Channels, more than 60 Spanish language channels, 110 HD channels and 20,000 On Demand choices, including more than 3,000 HD On Demand.

With today’s launch, the “World of More” is now available to the majority of XFINITY TV customers in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Comcast will continue to launch “The World of More” throughout the remainder of South Florida over the course of the next year.
