Unleashed today, the Droid X by Motorola is about as sexy and smooth as a smart phone can be, and it doesn’t hurt the early reviews are mostly raves.

And the cost is cheap for such a smart, smart phone. Right now purchase from Verizon for $199 after $100 mail-in rebate and signing two-year contract.

Here are the Droid stats on paper:

A whopping 4.3-inch, high-resolution (854 x 480) display screen. Shakira and Enrique Iglesias music videos never looked so good in the palm of your hand. The large screen size makes Droid X one of the largest Android phones on the market. For me, bigger is better for watching videos, typing e-mails or posting Twitter feeds.

HDMI output: Few smart phones boast this feature (Wait for it … iPhone does not), which allows you to plug into a big screen HDTV and enjoy your Droid X home videos in high-def splendor.

Mad HD: And you will be making beautiful home videos with this thing. The Droid X’s 8-megapixel video camera shoots 720P HD.

Also worth bragging about: Bluetooth voice dialing, WiFi hot spot mode for up to five devices (expect to pay Verizon an extra $20 a month minimum for this service), rechargeable battery life that delivers at least 8 hours of talk time and a 1-GHz TI OMAP 3630 processor.

Oh, and Droid X is bilingual. Out of the box the interface operates in English or Spanish.
