The publisher of the Urbanite, a free monthly magazine focused on Baltimore urban affairs, said Wednesday she was seeking an investor to help the publication expand its digital media offerings.

Publisher Tracy Ward, who is one of three investors in the magazine, said she was talking with Baltimore-based and out-of-town investors about the possibility for investment. Ward, who said the magazine was not being sold or going out of business, said she sought ways to enhance its Web and mobile content offerings.

"We're in media, so we're in a constant state of reinvention," Ward said by phone. "I do have a strategic plan and it will obviously involve increasing our digital platform."

Other Urbanite investors include developer C. William Struever and artist and architect Alex Castro.
