No. 9: McCormick & Company Inc.

Delectable scents once wafted over the Baltimore harbor from McCormick & Company, whose spices, seasonings and flavorings are ubiquitous in the food industry. The $3.7 billion company has since taken its good smells to Hunt Valley, where more than 3,000 of its 7,100 employees work. The company is dedicated to the "power of people." Employees enjoy tuition assistance for continuing education, an employee stock purchase program and career development resources. Many are long-time employees; one who has been with the company for 33 years said, "I have always been treated fairly and have worked with great people."
