The Community Foundation of Washington County MD Inc. recently presented Michael G. Day with a Professional Advisor Award of Excellence.
Day, president and principal of the law firm Michael G. Day and Associates, specializes in elder law, estate planning, asset protection, Medicaid, tax and estate administration issues. He has promoted the work of the Community Foundation through the creation of more than 15 individual funds resulting in $4 million in contributions. Additionally, many legacy funds will be created as a result of his work with clients in estate planning.
Harpers Ferry Family Medicine
HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. — Jane Holt has joined the medical practice of Harpers Ferry Family Medicine as a pediatrician. She is also an active member of the medical staff at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.
Holt graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, W.Va. She completed a residency in pediatrics at West Virginia University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, in Morgantown, W.Va. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in biology from Emory and Henry College in Emory, Va.
In addition to patient-care services, Holt will help train resident physicians and medical students as an assistant professor for the West Virginia University Department of Family Medicine, Eastern Division.
American Public Works Association
The American Public Works Association, or APWA, announced that Joseph Kroboth III, Washington County’s director of public works, was recently awarded the distinction of Public Works Leadership Fellow.
Kroboth serves on the board of directors for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the American Public Works Association. The chapter covers Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
The Fellow designation is bestowed through the APWA Donald C. Stone Center for Leadership Excellence. Candidates must demonstrate more than 20 years of progressively increasing leadership qualities and experience in the public works field. Factors considered by the APWA that lead to the award included Kroboth’s educational accomplishments, licenses and certifications, professional assignments and accomplishments, research experience, authored publications, membership in professional associations and civic/community volunteerism. The Public Works Leadership Fellow is the highest credentialing level offered by the center.
FREDERICK, Md. — Alan D. Mullendore has been appointed to assistant vice president and business banking relationship manager for M&T Bank.
With an office at 26 N. Court St., Frederick, he is responsible for providing traditional financial services and customized product solutions to business clients throughout the Frederick area.
Mullendore joins M&T Bank with more than 13 years of experience in the financial-services industry. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Shepherd College, now Shepherd University.
Mullendore is a member of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and is involved with Mission of Mercy.
Mullendore and his family live in Boonsboro.
Volvo Group Hagerstown
Tim Salvagno, manager of material handling, was the January employee of the month at Volvo Group Hagerstown.
He was nominated by his colleagues, who recognized his commitment to excellence, and for being an exceptional leader and motivator.
Salvagno has been employed at Volvo since 2006. He lives in Hagerstown.
