The International Association of Administrative Professionals, or IAAP, recently announced that Donnell Householder of Cumberland, Md., earned certified administrative professional certification.
The professional certification requires individuals to satisfy education and/or experience requirements and pass a comprehensive exam.
Householder has been an administrative professional for 10 years and is an active member of the Hager Chapter of IAAP. In addition to IAAP, she is actively involved with other organizations such as the Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) and the Maryland Classified Employees Association, or MCEA. She is serving as the 2013 management development vice president for the Maryland Jaycees and as the state director for her local chapter, the Western Maryland Jaycees. She also serves as the MCEA Area IV secretary and as president of her local chapter, 191.
Coffman Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center
Bob Simmers recently was named the new admissions director at Coffman Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Hagerstown.
Simmers brings more than 25 years of human relations and marketing experience to Coffman, which recently added a new short-term rehabilitation department.
In his new role, Simmers will assist prospective residents and their families in the admissions process. He also will develop marketing opportunities for Coffman, which was named Washington County’s top nursing facility by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
Simmers holds a master’s degree in strategic leadership and a bachelor’s degree in sociology. He is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie human relations course.
Liza D’heedene of Hagerstown recently became an independent consultant with Tastefully Simple Inc., a national direct-sales company featuring more than 60 easy-to-prepare foods.
As an independent business owner, D’heedene offers food samples at home taste-testing parties, along with easy ideas for everyday meals, recipes, serving suggestions and fun. All of Tastefully Simple’s products are either ready to open and eat, or can be prepared by adding one or two ingredients.

Scott W. Palmer recently joined Susquehanna Bank as vice president, commercial relationship manager.
He is responsible for developing and maintaining commercial banking relationships with local real estate developers/investors and business owners, and is based at Susquehanna’s Hagerstown Financial Center, 1800 Dual Highway.
Palmer previously worked as vice president, relationship manager at PNC Bank and has 21 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry.
A resident of Frederick, Md., Palmer is a member of the Frederick County Builders Association.
