BOONSBORO — Jeff and Rhonda Cullison, owners of SERVPRO of Washington County, attended SERVPRO's 42nd annual national convention June 25 to 29 at the Renaissance Grand Hotel in St. Louis.
Franchisees heard from renowned keynote speakers such as Victoria Labalme and Bob Garner. They also attended sessions with leaders in the insurance industry.
SERVPRO's corporate office helped facilitate more than 50 workshops on topics ranging from developing industry trends to marketing to local communities.
The convention focused on education, professional development and networking among SERVPRO System's more than 1,500 franchise owners. It also recognized franchisees who have gone above and beyond in their businesses.

Chick Brewing Co.
EASTON, Md. — Easton-based Chick Brewing Co. announced the launch of Chick Beer, a premium light American lager that is the first national brand targeted to women.
Chick Brewing Founder and President Shazz Lewis said women drink 25 percent of all beer sold in the United States, with more than 11 million cases of beer sold every year in Maryland alone.
She said the packaging for Chick Beer is unique, fun and female-centric, with a six pack designed to look like a purse. The colors are hot pink and black, and the bottle label looks like a classic "little black dress." Lewis described the brew as flavorful light beer, smoother and less bitter than most, lightly carbonated, with 97 calories and 3.5 carbs per serving.
Chick Beer donates 5 percent of its profits to charities that empower women.
Chick Beer recently launched across Maryland, and the brand will be expanding soon into other states. Chick Beer will be represented in Carroll, Frederick, Washington, Garrett and Allegany counties by Wantz Distributors, a Hagerstown-based distributor of Anheuser-Busch and other beers.
