Bob Swindell was elected chairman of the Florida Economic Development Council Conference, Florida's primary resource for economic development related policy development, education and networking. His term continues through June 30, 2015. Swindell is president and CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, a role he has held since November 2009. He joined the alliance as the senior vice president of business development in 2003.
Monika Amar was appointed director of social media at TransMedia Group in Boca Raton.
Andrew Hertz, president and general manager of Miami Seaquarium, will succeed Tammy Gustafson as chairman of Visit Florida's 2014-2015 board of directors.
Heidi Dennis was promoted to general manager at the Atlantic Hotel & Spa in Fort Lauderdale. Dennis originally joined the hotel in 2013 as director of operations.
Madeline Jones joined United Way of Broward County as director of community impact for health initiatives. Previously, Jones worked for the Children Services Council of Broward County. Before that, she was director of Healthy Families Broward at the Broward Health Regional Planning Council.
Heather Kuhl was appointed vice president of Give a Buck for Special Equestrians, a Miami-based non-profit organization that supports therapeutic riding programs throughout the state and in North Carolina. Kuhl is a licensed psychologist and certified equine assisted therapist and teaches at the Institute for the Study of Human Service, Health, and Justice at Nova Southeastern University.
Donna Kleban, a board certified surgeon who specializes exclusively in the treatment of breast cancer and other diseases of the breast, was named event chairman for the 2014 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk for the The American Cancer Society, scheduled for October 18 at Meyer Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach.
Gregory W. Coleman, partner with Critton, Luttier & Coleman, Coleman in West Palm Beach, will become president of the Florida Bar when he is sworn in during the General Assembly at the Annual Convention in Orlando on Friday. In the past year, Coleman has headed the Technology Committee of the Bar's Vision 2016 Commission, which is focusing on four areas: legal education, technology, Bar admissions and delivery of legal services/pro bono.

In 2009, she was an associate with Burstein and Associates P.A. in North Miami.
