Loft — a women's clothing boutique — will open a new store in Abingdon's Boulevard at Box Hill this spring, the shopping center's developers said Monday.

The shopping center near I-95 at Emmorton and Woodsdale roads already includes a Wegmans Food Market, an Old Navy and a J.C. Penney.

"The Boulevard at Box Hill is gaining momentum," said Thomas L. Fidler, Jr., executive vice president of MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services. "The position of this project along Route 24 and Interstate 95 is proving to be a strong regional shopping destination."

The store, which is now under construction, will be about 5,000 square feet, Ward Properties & MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services said in a release.

Construction will begin in November on another building in the center that will offer 47,000 square feet of retail space. Planned tenants include an American Fare Brew Pub restaurant as well as home furnishing and clothing stores, the developers said.
