Research released this morning by Interest.com says Baltimore is the 9th most affordable city among the 25 largest metro areas.
The company compared the median household income to the median price of a house in those cities to determine affordability. In Baltimore’s case, the median income exceeded the amount needed to buy a house here by 8 percent.
Most affordable metro areas in order: Detroit, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Phoenix and St. Louis.
Least affordable: San Francisco, followed by New York, San Diego, Miami and Los Angeles.
