Best Buy Co.and Cooking.com have teamed up to launch an online store for cooks.
The Best Buy Kitchen Shop, a microsite that will be run by Cooking.com, will offer more than 3,000 cookware and kitchen products and be accessible within the bestbuy.com online store, the companies said this week.
Executives at Best Buy, which sells small and large appliances along with electronics, said the partnership came about to offer customers a “one-stop shop for all of their cooking needs – including a broader assortment of housewares, food and even recipes,” a Best Buy statement said.
BestBuy.com is Cooking.com’s first major retail partner, said Tracy Randall, Cooking.com's chief executive. Cooking.com operates 14 branded online stores including Food Network Store and Calphalon Store.
Besides cookware, Best Buy Kitchen Shop hopes to become the go-to spot for gourmet foods, beverages and even recipes.
