Winter may appear to have no end in sight, but Home Depot is thinking spring.
It's the biggest season of the year for the home improvement retailer, which said Wednesday it's hiring 750 temporary workers in the Baltimore area. That's about 45 employees for each of the area's 16 stores.
The chain says the positions are seasonal, workers for the garden department and parking lots, "but we try to keep as many people on board as possible," said Catherine Woodling, a spokeswoman.
Last year about half the spring workers stayed on at the stores.
The retailer, which is hiring 80,000 workers nationwide, is taking applications now online. The chain is encouraging students, retirees, veterans and reservists to apply.
