The store in the Towne Square at Turf Valley on Resort Road will be open 24 hours a day, with a seven-day-a-week pharmacy.
The company is the 23rd largest supermarket chain in the U.S., with 2012 sales of $4.54 billion. It got its start in 1960 with the merger of two North Carolina grocers.
The 48,000-square-foot Ellicott City supermarket will feature a full-service "butchers market," full-service "fisherman’s market," an expanded fresh cut flower section, fresh fruit bar, sushi, salad bar, chef-prepared pastries and food to go, international cheeses and a sub shop.
