Colin's Seafood and Grill plans a grand opening today at 11:30 in Randallstown.
The restaurant in Randallstown Plaza at Liberty and Offutt roads, co-owned by restaurateurs Dante and Candes Daniels, opened last month offering sit-down dining for 146 and a menu of sandwiches, seafood and steak. It employs 40 people.
"The residents of Randallstown have been asking for more attractive dining choices in their neighborhood for years," Baltimore County Councilman Kenneth N. Oliver, who represents the area, said in the restaurant's announcement. Daniels and his wife will bring "much-needed new life to the Liberty Road corridor."
Daniels has nearly three decades of restaurant experience, starting at age 15 when he worked as a dishwasher and then cook for Duff's Smorgasbord. He attended Baltimore International College and has been a chef at Phillip's Seafood in the Inner Harbor and in Annapolis, at Cheesecake Factory, Legal Seafood and Maceo's.
He describes Colin's as an upscale but family-friendly restaurant serving fresh fish, whole Maine lobster, crab cakes, burgers and other fare.
"I want to have a nice, fun, safe place to get a good restaurant meal at a nice price," he said.
