SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- It may come as no surprise at such a tradition-laden school as Notre Dame that the new uniforms the school unveiled Tuesday look a lot like the old ones.
The uniforms, designed by Under Armour, Notre Dame's new apparel manufacturer, feature the traditional look of the old Adidas uniforms -- same numbering, same trim, some color patterns.
Sometimes at Notre Dame, simple and understated has served it the best. Many fans may remember several bad experiments Adidas made with alternate jerseys involving both the football and basketball teams. (Lime green, anyone?)
The cleats are blue and gold and mesh well with the jerseys while the Under Armour logo is feature on both the shirt and the pants.
Under Armour also unveiled the team's alternate jerseys, which were a tad more understated than previous versions under Adidas.
