Dave & Busters will open at White Marsh Mall

Dave & Buster's will open at White Marsh Mall in December, mall owner GGP said Monday.

The entertainment complex includes hundreds of arcade games, a restaurant and a sports bar. It will be the brand's fourth location in Maryland, in addition to Arundel Mills mall, Silver Spring and Capitol Heights.

Dave & Buster's will take over the former Sports Authority space at White Marsh. The sporting goods retailer closed its stores as part of the chain's bankruptcy last year. Construction will start in June.

The addition of the Dallas-based concept is part of the regional mall's plan to evolve to meet changing needs of shoppers, who increasingly seek entertainment at shopping centers, GGP said. The 1.1-million square foot mall is anchored by department stores Boscov's, JCPenney, Macy's and Sears.

"We strive to provide everything under one roof for an all-encompassing experience," Wesley Rebisz, the mall's general manager, said in the announcement.

Dave & Busters operates 100 large-venue restaurant/entertainment complexes in the U.S. and Canada.

This has been updated to reflect GGP's new name.
