Maryland's more than 2,500 Verizon Wireless workers have been given bonuses of 6 percent to 10 percent of their base salaries in their Friday paychecks, the company said. The yearly bonuses, which are paid to employees companywide, are based on the annual performance of both the company and individual workers.
Verizon Wireless posted $18.3 billion in revenue for the fourth quarter of 2011, a 13 percent jump over the last three months of 2010, the company reported in January.
Besides the bonuses, the company will offer merit raises, starting at 2.5 percent of workers' annual salaries, in coming weeks, Verizon said.
