The Sprouts Farmers Market store planned for Ellicott City, the first in Maryland, will open March 14, the Phoenix-based organic grocer said Thursday.
Construction is nearly complete on the Sprouts building in St. John’s Plaza at 9150 Baltimore National Pike. It will be one of nine new Sprouts locations opening in the first three months of 2018 and part of a 30-store U.S. expansion planned for next year, the grocer said. The chain runs more than 280 stores in 15 states.
Sprouts plans to hire about 120 full- and part-time workers, including managers and assistant managers for produce, meat and seafood, grocery, bakery and vitamins and body care departments, cashiers, courtesy clerks and administrative coordinators. Applicants can apply at sprouts.com/careers or by calling 1-866-925-2396 for non-managerial roles.
The first location opened 15 years ago. The grocer touts itself as a seller of fresh, natural and organic products at affordable prices and offers more than 1,800 Sprouts Brand products.
The Ellicott City store will feature fresh fruits and vegetables, barrels of grains, nuts and sweets and an in-house butcher.
