Prometric, a Baltimore-based provider of educational testing services, plans to open a $12 million facility in White Marsh this June, county and company officials said Wednesday.
The Global Operations Center of Excellence, planned to open in June, will be used to oversee Prometric's global test center network, global help desk, contact centers, on-demand testing and candidate support.
The 60,000-square-foot center off Corporate Drive will bring 250 jobs from Minnesota and other parts of Maryland, including Woodlawn, where the firm plans to close a location, county economic development officials said. Altogether, the moves will create 100 new jobs, they said.
Prometric, which has corporate headquarters in Canton, is a wholly owned subsidiary of ETS. The company has 400 clients in the academic, financial, government, healthcare, professional, corporate and information technology sectors.
In a statement, Prometric CEO Michael Brannick cited the location's proximity to its headquarters as well as the professional workforce in choosing White Marsh.
