Golden Ring Travel acquired by N.J. bus company

Baltimore's Golden Ring Travel is being acquired by Academy Bus in a move to expand the New Jersey-based company's charter and touring business in this region.

Terms were not disclosed.

Academy, based in Hoboken, operates more than 650 tour and commuter buses from 10 Northeast locations. Golden Ring Travel has been in business for more than a quarter of a century.

In its statement, Academy Bus said all Golden Ring employees will be allowed to keep their jobs, and the company pledged to continue Ravens Ride, a network of game-day shuttles between M&T Bank Stadium and suburban Baltimore.
